Day 259: Birthday Cake Palooza

It was quite the busy day for all of us.  I met Little Buddy and Daddy at swim class after I finished my six mile training run (which was not easy after two weeks of traveling).  After our little man had splashed around the blown lots of bubbles, it was over to the mall to take care of some errands and to get Little Buddy's much too long hair cut.  Of course, the carousel is right by the kids' salon so Little Buddy wanted some tiger time while we waited for the salon to open.

Once we got into the salon, Little Buddy did very well with his trim.  His hair is very thick, so I definitely think he will feel much cooler now that it has been shortened.  Even though we knew it was long, Daddy and I were still surprised at the amount of hair on the floor once the stylist was done.  Because Little Buddy was so well-behaved, we rewarded him with another carousel ride.  I was surprised, though, that Daddy was able to get him to ride the zebra!

Proud of him for trying a new animal!

We made it home to have some lunch and watch some Ohio State football before Little Buddy fell asleep.  While he was asleep, I got everything ready for the, not one, but two birthday parties Little Buddy had today!  My little boy has more of a social life than I do!  I knew he was going to have fun, but I also knew it was going to a be a long day, especially because it would just be him and I as Daddy was going to watch a baseball game downtown with friends.

Little Buddy slept a little long for his nap, so we were a little late to K's birthday party.  We missed the playtime at Wonderwild, but we did arrive in time for Little Buddy to get a good look at the firetruck that came for the party!

Fireman Little Buddy!

After some tasty birthday cake and chatting with friends, our friend, Ms. M, invited us to go back to her house before the next party so that Little Buddy could play with her daughter, E.  Little Buddy and E had a great time and I am so glad we got to spend some time with them today!

Soon it was time to head to the next birthday party for W.  Little Buddy was excited to see all his friends again!  He also enjoyed playing the bounce house, blowing bubbles, and, of course, eating some more birthday cake!

He loved the birthday boy's no-spill bubble bucket.  We may have to pick one up too!

It was a great day, but it was eventually time to head home.  I couldn't believe Little Buddy was still awake on the drive back to the house (although all the birthday cake he ate may have had something to do with it).  We did a quick shower and tooth brushing, then I was finally able to get him into bed by 9 PM!  A long day, but definitely worth it!

Good night,

LBM
