Day 246: Sandboxes, Trains, Slides, and Plenty to Eat!

Ugh, Little Buddy had a rough night last night.  He normally has no sleep issues, even in unfamiliar places, but last night it seemed he was waking up about every half an hour crying.  It was rough for him as well as for his Daddy and I, because we couldn't figure out what was wrong.  We did finally get him to sleep for a few hours but when he woke up, he was still a bit upset.  Finally, he told me that he cheek hurt, which is Little Buddy speak for "cutting teeth."  Oh evil molars, just come in already!  At least now that we know what is wrong, we can be prepared for tonight, because all of us could use a little more sleep.

Besides that, it was a full and fun-filled day today.  While the Mommies took a walk in the beautiful hill country...

The Daddies and kids got started early playing in campground's park!

Sandbox time for E, Little Buddy, C, J, and Mr. R.

After that, we packed a lunch and headed to a nearby park that had a kids' train and a spring-fed swimming hole.  While we waited for the train to get back to the station, we found some ducks to feed.

Train time!

After the train ride,  it was time for a picnic lunch and swimming in the swimming hole.  The swimming area was awesome and the kids were loving the slide and minnows darting around their feet.  The adults were loving the cold water that offered some relief from the Texas sun.  Then, before we left for naps, some of the Mommies and Daddies decided to try out the swimming hole's big slide and the rope swing.  It was a lot of fun and we can't wait to bring the kids back when they are older and can enjoy the more "grown-up" areas of the park with us.

Once all the kiddos woke up from their naps, they were ready for a pre-dinner snack.  I love watching our toddlers become fast friends!

 They do love their food...

And Little Buddy loves his watermelon!

After dinner, it was time for some Popsicles!  We ended up with some messy, but very happy, little ones.

After we put all the little ones to bed, the adults had a wonderful time hanging out as well.  Such a great day!  Now, I am hoping Little Buddy sleeps a little better tonight so we can have a good night as well!

Until tomorrow,
