Even though he was all smiles when we put him to bed last night, Little Buddy woke up in the night and was sick again. He still had a slight fever and would alternate between perfectly pleasant and absolutely miserable. Since this weekend is a holiday weekend, we went ahead and made him a doctor appointment for safety's sake.
The morning started off fine, with Little Buddy keeping down a light breakfast and being very playful. He was ok but tired when we got the doctors' office, but after we were taken back to the examination room his fever started to spike. It was terrible. When the doctor came back to look at him, he had started to blossom into a rash. To make a long story short, poor Little Buddy got some ibuprofen and then was tested for everything under the sun. Strep culture, blood work, flu test; you name it, he got it. And they all came back negative. Poor buddy doesn't feel good and they don't know why! They said that it could be a random virus that just needs to run its course or his teeth (with the vomiting being caused by swallowing the high amount of saliva he's been making). I guess we just had to wait and see. In the mean time, we are just working to keep him hydrated, fed, and fever free.
As you can see, he's not feeling the greatest. Keep him (and his tired parents) in your thoughts as we wait for this to hopefully pass soon!
