Day 113: Outdoors on Earth Day

Today we celebrated Earth Day with some outside time!  Since Daddy needed to work on the playhouse today, Little Buddy and I decided to hang out with him outside.  But how to keep Little Buddy out of Daddy's way and still keep him happy?  Hmm...what about some pool time?  We decided to create a Backyard Beach!

Having fun splashing!

Enjoying our Backyard Beach together!

After some successful water time, we headed in for lunch.  Little Buddy chowed down on his whole wheat quesadilla, filled with cheddar, spinach, and beef.  It was so yummy he didn't even notice he was eating the spinach!   We're still having some difficulty getting him to eat non-pureed vegetables, especially leafy ones, so if I need to hide some in cheese, that's what I'll do.

Little Buddy was starting to act sleepy, so we thought we were set for another good nap.  We got Chesney on his leash and Little Buddy in his stroller and headed out for a walk.  Little Buddy fell asleep pretty easily and we felt pretty confident that we could get some work done.  Daddy headed to work outside and I started on chores.

I got the dishwasher loaded before he woke up.

He only slept for about a half an hour and he would not consent to go back to sleep.  You could tell he was tired, but he fought to stay awake, especially after he saw that Uncle C was still here!  They worked on whistling together.

Even with Uncle C to play with, Little Buddy still seemed tired and out of sorts.  He even went through a record three diapers in 15 minutes!  Since he refused to sleep, we just played with him and tried to keep him from getting too grumpy until dinner.  After we'd eaten, we went out back to check on our garden.

"Hmm...let's look at how the squash are doing..."

"Everything's looking pretty good Mommy!  When can I pick stuff and fill my bucket with yummy food?"

After reminding Little Buddy that patience is key when growing a garden, we decided to take him in for an early bedtime.  Hopefully my overtired boy will get a good night's rest and be back on schedule tomorrow!

Good night,

LBM
