Day 111: Perpetual Motion

It was a busy day around here today!  Little Buddy was on the move all the time.  We started the day playing with Green Monster.

Green Monster was actually a childhood toy of mine and, for some reason, Little Buddy loves it.  He carried it around with him all morning, periodically giving it hugs.

Hugs!

After going through our morning rituals, Little Buddy and I actually made it to Boot Camp for the third time this week!  It's a miracle!  I used to always go three times a week, but school has made it difficult recently.  Little Buddy likes when we go on Fridays though, because it means Splash Pad time!  I love his smiles when he plays in the water.

Once we got dried off, we picked up some food and went over to the park to have a picnic with our friends.  Little Buddy had a blast eating outside and all the kids loved running around the park.

Chowing down on his grilled cheese!

All the water and playing had tired him out and he took a great nap.  When he woke up, however, it had started raining, so we were stuck playing inside.  He was doing really well playing on his own with his toys, so I went into the kitchen to empty the dishwasher.  After a few minutes, I realized it was quiet.  Too quiet.  I ran into the living to discover this:

Crazy kid.  Thankfully he didn't knock the lamp over.  After I told him that climbing on the end tables was a no-no, he decided he had to find something else to to do.  It was then he realized that he could reach the light switch from the arm of the couch.

We played the "on/off" game for quite some time.  Every time he would turn the light off, he would yell "Oof!" and then lay on the couch and make sleeping noises.  Then he would jump up, turn in the light on, yell "On!"", and giggle uncontrollably.  Wash, rinse, repeat.  Thankfully, since it was Friday, Daddy came home early.  The Light Switch Game was quickly replaced by the Tickle Daddy Game.  Little Buddy has just figured out how to "tickle" us.  He gently pokes at us with his finger tips and we laugh loudly, causing Little Buddy to do it again to get the reaction.  He loves it.  It's also how we taught him to laugh on command.

"Tickle tickle tickle!"

Daddy's ticklish!

After tickle time was over, Little Buddy decided he wanted to work on his letters.  He's really interested in his alphabet right now.  He can name almost all of the letters on sight and when we ask him to pick a certain letter from the puzzle, he normally can.

"C is for cookie!"

Pretty soon Little Buddy was ready for his next activity.  Next up, ball throwing!  He loves throwing the ball for Chesney (although Chesney would prefer that we just throw the ball for him and leave the baby out of it).  Little Buddy gets the ball, calls Chesney, throws the ball a few feet, and then waves his arms while laughing.  It's quite funny to watch.

The laugh.

"Get ready Chesney!"

"We can play with your doughnut toy if you don't want to throw the ball anymore."

"It's in the shape of the letter 'O'!"

Time to clean up!

Once we got all the toys put away downstairs and took a bath, it was time to get Little Buddy ready for bed.  He then decided that he wanted to be measured and backed up to his growth chart.

"I just know I'm taller!  I can feel it!"

"See, I'm sure I've gone up a few millimeters!"

We assured Little Buddy we would mark down his height increase.  Satisfied, he then decided he wanted to clean up his room.  He picked his Elmo shirt off of the floor, opened his drawer, and put the shirt in!  That's the first time I've seen him do that!

"Open says-a-me!"

"In you go Elmo shirt...maybe Mommy won't notice I have put you back in the drawer and will let me wear you tomorrow too!"

"Closed!"

After such a busy day for all of us, we were ready to get Little Buddy to bed.  I am pretty impressed with all his new skills:  Putting toys away, turning lights on and off, exercising the dog, and putting clothes away.  So, when can I start giving him my chores to do?  :)

Night everyone,
