The day started out innocently enough. We even made it out the door in time to make it to BBC for the ENTIRE warm-up. This is a pretty monumental accomplishment for us. After the workout, we played at the park (where Little Buddy attempted to give me a heart attack by hanging out a "big kid" opening on the upper level), and then had lunch with Daddy. Little Buddy fell asleep on the ride home and I was able to get him in the house without any problem. But as soon as I pulled out the cheese to shred for the dinner, I heard some shuffling around and a plaintive call for "Momma?" Ugh.
I spent the next 20 minutes trying to get him back to sleep but he wasn't having it. Knowing that he needed his rest and I needed to work on some things around the house, I tried my next tactic: quiet time. I took Little Buddy up to his room and placed him in his crib while I went downstairs to work. He actually played quietly with his stuffed animals for about an hour. When I finished on project in the kitchen and he was still up, I decided I would just clean the kitchen up and then go get him. By the time I got up there, though, he was finally out! I was tempted to take a picture (especially because a nap in the crib is exceptionally rare) but didn't want to chance it. I got to go downstairs and work for another hour before he woke up, happy and rested.
After Daddy got home, we had dinner, and then it was time for Little Buddy's bath. He still loves his bath and likes to wear his rinse bowl as a hat.
"What do you mean it's time to get out and I have to take off my bowl?"
"Oh, but I get to wear my shark towel? I guess that's ok then."
"Better check the old scale..."
Shark hugs for Mommy!
I love my Baby Shark!
Goodnight all,
