"Let me finish this picture, Momma, and then I will be ready to go!"
Getting ready to go into the Alamo.
Little Buddy decided that Elmo Bones needed to take the tour too.
Cannons!
We actually spent nearly two hours at the Alamo. I was pleasantly surprised that it kept him entertained for that long. Little Buddy ran around the park looking at the trees, the different colors of flowers, and the fish in the irrigation channel. He chased squirrels, counted flags, and ran up and down steps to his heart's content. Little Buddy did so well, my plan was to head to the gift shop and get him a present before lunch time. As I stood in line with his new Alamo coloring book, I happened to look down into the stroller: he was passed out! And before lunch! Not knowing what else to do, we went back to the hotel. I thought I could get some homework done during this impromptu nap. The answer to that question was "no," as we were only in the room for ten minutes before he woke up. Oh well, at least that meant we got to meet Daddy for lunch!
We ate lunch on the River Walk near the mall. Daddy had to go back to the conference, so Little Buddy and I went into the mall and found the San Antonio "Germ Tree."
Driving the boat.
Climbing the Alamo!
He was enamored with this carousel and loved comparing the horses colors. I don't know what I am going to do once he figures out that you can put money in these things to make them move!
After our mall time, I was able to bring him back to the hotel and convince him to take an actual nap. It was a shorter nap than normal and I had to lay down with him in order to get him asleep. Of course, how he needed me to lay in order for him to be comfortable was in no way comfortable for me, so I didn't get to indulge in a nap. He was excited to see Daddy when he woke up though!
Stealing Daddy's dress shirt and running around like a super hero!
We spent the rest of the night doing dinner on the River Walk and taking a boat ride on the San Antonio River! Little Buddy was in heaven to be on one of the boats he'd been waving to all day.
Boat time!
Waiting to board...
On the boat.
Excited to take the tour!
We thought that after our night out on the town, Little Buddy would be ready to pass out. No such luck; he was still raring to go!
"Let's get this party going!"
"What do you want on the pizza? Pepperoni? Pineapple?"
We did finally get him settled and asleep, but because we were all sharing a room, it was time for bed for all of us. Being out of our element is quite the adventure! Tomorrow Little Buddy and I plan to hit the Children's Museum and a park.
Night all!
