Day 279: Baby Italia

Last year, my husband and I went on a Mediterranean cruise to celebrate our five year wedding anniversary.  It was the first time we had left Little Buddy for a long span of time and we missed him dearly.  We tried to console ourselves by buying him souvenirs from every stop on our trip, including a large Italia jacket from Rome that was much too big for our then one-year-old Little Buddy.

Looking at how this "too big" jacket now fits him makes me both happy to see how much he's grown into a little boy and a little sad to see how much "baby" he's left behind him.  These thoughts were reinforced all day when I watched him run through the park with his friends and when we let him out of his stroller to run home after walking the dog. 

He's growing up.  And it is a beautiful thing to see.
