Day 143: It Means "I Love You"

I may be giving away my age, but back in the day of pagers, the number "143" was used to communicate "I love you" (I = one letter, love = four letters, and you = 3 letters).  It's appropriate that today is the 143rd day of my resolution, because even though I am beyond tired, I love my Little Buddy.
Little Buddy has had a persistent runny nose all spring.  The drainage has been clear and unaccompanied by fever or fussiness, so it's mostly been associated with allergies.  Late last night though, the drainage was messing with Little Buddy's breathing and only allowing him a few hours of fitful sleep.  Needless to say, mine and Daddy's sleep was also disrupted.  We brought Little Buddy downstairs and found that if Daddy sat in the living room chair and held Little Buddy on his chest in a more upright position, sleep could happen.  For all of us.

However, since so little sleep was had last night, Little Buddy and I spent most of the day at home in our pajamas.  It was nice to just hang out with him, but I hate being sleepy, hate missing my workout, hate not leaving the house all day, and hate being in my pajamas through lunchtime.  However, just one look at Little Buddy's smile and I remember what is really important.  Instead of a day being stuck inside, it's a day of playing with Little Buddy without distractions (or having to worry about where to change his diaper next...always a bonus!).  I love him and I love our days together.

Even though I was enjoying our time, this zombie momma wasn't protesting the extra long nap Little Buddy took this afternoon:  Four and a half hours!!!  I had to go up a few times just to make sure that he was still taking in oxygen.  I was able to take a rest and do a few chores before I heard the beast begin to stir.

It's alive!

"Hi momma!  I'm rested now!"

My big boy!

Once he was up and around, Little Buddy was kind enough to help me with my chores.  He is especially good with a Swiffer.  However, sometimes he's not sure if he is supposed to dust the furniture or the floor.  Today he picked the floor.

Dust, dust, dust!

"Wait, what else can I dust?"

"How about Momma?"

"Let's get you clean Momma!"

After we finished our chores and our dinner, we played for a bit, hoping to tire Little Buddy out enough to let him sleep soundly tonight.  He especially liked playing with his new Kentucky Derby horse from Aunt P and Uncle J.

He was still pretty wound up when we put him to bed, but we're crossing our fingers for a good night's sleep tonight (for all of us)!  I think I will turn in early just in case.

Good night,

LBM
