Day 133: Backyards Shenanigans

We had quite the busy day today!  After I went and ran with my running group and Little Buddy went grocery shopping with Daddy (where Little Buddy nearly lost the car keys), it was time for swim class.  Once again Little Buddy jumped right in!

He did really well at swimming today, kicking up a storm and swimming underwater for six seconds!  However, we realized after swimming that we forgot to refill the diaper bag and only had one diaper left!  Oops!  We ended up doing a quick Target run to restock and then got lunch.  Little Buddy was wiped out after that and ended up taking a good nap.

It was great he was so rested, because we had a busy afternoon!  Our good friend from college, Ms. K, just graduated with her Masters degree and we were headed down to Richmond to help celebrate.  We had a great time seeing our friends (and Ms. K's parents who hadn't seen Little Buddy since he was in my tummy) and Little Buddy had fun playing cornhole!  He came up with his own "slam dunk" technique!

Step 1: Get bean bag!

Step 2: Slam dunk it in the hole!

Step 3: Repeat and cheer!

Unfortunately, we had to leave the party a bit early so that we could get Little Buddy home and to bed.  He had eaten a late lunch and wasn't acting too hungry when we left the party, so we thought we could make it closer to home before having to feed him.  We were wrong.  We ended up having to stop at a McDonald's because that is all that was around.  I can't even tell you the last time we went to a McDonald's.  My husband ordered something for him and I while I unpacked Little Buddy's dinner from home.  Little Buddy gobbled down his oranges, his veggie pouch, and his rice bar and started clamoring for our fries.  We sighed, relented and gave him a few.  He, of course, loved them and choose to eat them before finishing his last few orange slices.  Kids.  One taste of unhealthiness and they throw all their good habits out the window.  I won't be ordering fries in front of him anymore!

Anyway, we finished our meal, got home, and put a tired Little Buddy to bed.  I'm looking forward to celebrating Mother's Day with him tomorrow!

Good night,

LBM
