Day 135: Did Someone Request a 4 AM Wake-Up Call? 'Cause it Wasn't Me.

I hate when Little Buddy gets off schedule.  Even if it is just one day, it always takes several days to get him back on track.  After the french fry debacle last night, his internal clock was completely out of whack and he woke up at 4 AM this morning ready and raring to go.  Needless to say, Daddy and I were not nearly as ready or as raring.  Ugh.  Two nights of little sleep in a row do not a spry Mommy make.

Thankfully, although he was a bit grumpy, Little Buddy was also tired enough today to be a great cuddle bug.  This was good because we were both too tired to leave the house!  We played around the house in our pajamas for most of the morning.  We cuddled on the couch, read books, played tickle monster, jumped on the big bed, and looked at the pictures around the house.  Little Buddy likes to hear me tell him about he pictures on the wall.  His favorite is the picture in our Master bedroom of the Italian countryside.  I love showing him that one because I tell him, "That's a picture of Italy" and he repeats after me "Lilitali".  It's the most adorable word ever and sounds like he is singing.  I have to make a voice recording of it.

Even though he was tired, Little Buddy still had a few goof ball moments as I tried to rock him asleep for his nap.  To get him to sleep, you have to avoid eye contact with him or else he'll grin at you, you'll grin back, and no nap will happen.  Well, as I am rocking him and avoiding adorable eye contact, he coughs, and I of course look down at him.  He smiles mischievously.  I look away again, continue rocking, and quickly look down at him when he coughs again.  Another smile.  He's got my number now and he knows it.  He keeps coughing and I keep looking and he starts giggling.  I knew it was going to delay his nap, but I gave in and played.  How could I resist that grin and giggle?!

I did finally get to him to sleep (and got myself showered and out of pajamas), but he was still pretty concerned about staying close to me once he woke up.  We played some more and watched Elmo while waiting for Daddy to get home.  Once Daddy was home, we ate some leftover homemade pizza and made oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.  If Little Buddy is going to keep helping in the kitchen, I am going to need to get him an apron!

"Ok, let's measure out the oatmeal..."

"And pour it in the bowl!"

"Here Momma, I can do that too!"

 Checking out his ingredients.

My happy little baking buddy!

Now let's hope my little baker is tuckered out enough to sleep until at least 6 AM!  Cross your fingers for us!

Night all,
