Afterwards, we went to conquer the slides at the Germ Tree. Little Buddy had a lot of fun with his friends.
Climbing on the frog with T.
On a boat with O.
After a lunch with Daddy and dropping the car off (silly nail in the tire), Little Buddy and I came home. He was asleep when we got home and went down for his nap easy enough, but I was still wary. Based on his lack of naps the past week, I had a sitter scheduled to come at two. Of course, this meant Little Buddy slept until three! Another miracle! I was happy for the nap (as was he, he was more pleasant than he had been in days!), but I still had to laugh at the irony.
He played with the sitter for a few hours while I did some much-needed work, and then we got ready to head to our make-up swim class. We were supposed to meet Daddy at a local sandwich shop for dinner before class, but it had shortened hours today. Our plans thwarted, we went through the drive-thru at Panera and quickly gobbled down on our food as we drove over to the pool.
Little Buddy did great at swimming! This teacher really challenged him and he was fearless! He's now jumping into the pool and swimming short distances to me. I was amazed!
Then we came home and it was time for bed. Little Buddy wasn't too sleepy yet; he was still wound up!
"Hi Momma!"
Once we were done with bath time and had his pajamas on, we were proceeding on with our bedtime routine when Little Buddy deviated a bit. He made the sign for "baby" and said the word too. When we asked if he wanted a baby, he said yes. My husband and I looked at each other: for all our desires to not conform to gender roles, we had to admit that he didn't have a baby for Little Buddy to hold. I looked through his stuffed animals and found Daddy's old Gloworm. It looked close enough to a baby to work. Little Buddy seemed satisfied.
Rocking his "baby."
"Hi baby!"
He decided that his baby needed read to. What a sweet boy! He'll be a great father some day, just like his Daddy.
Then it was time to rock "baby" to sleep:
I'm not going to lie. This was one of the cutest things I have ever seen. I love my Little Buddy!
Night all,
LBM
