Day 193: Rainy, Bouncy, Naked Eskimos

I should have known that a day that started with my dear little one rubbing poo-poo in his hair would be a long day.  A very, very long day, indeed.

First of all, Little Buddy and I started the day by taking Daddy to drop off his car to get fixed.  After we drove in the suddenly pouring rain, we managed to miss the exit and had to do a loop to get back.  Not a huge deal, but it was the preamble to a rough day.  We picked Daddy back up and took him to work.  I was actually excited because Little Buddy and I were actually going to be early to Boot Camp!  Really early!  As we sat in the parking lot hoping for the rain to break, we got the message that class was cancelled due to severe weather.  There went my hope for being early!  And Little Buddy was starting to get pretty angry in his carseat...

Thankfully, we were able to meet some of our friends at Bouncing Bears.  Of course, Little Buddy was more interested in playing in the ice cream truck than on the bounce houses.

He loves driving this truck!

I did finally get him interested in some of the bounce houses.  He was still pretty cautious (as he normally is) but he seemed to have a good time.  He really liked going down the big slide, but he refused to go down without me.  He would climb up on his own, situate himself at the top of the slide, and then refuse to come down, calling out, "Momma!  Help!"  Oh well, I guess I should just be happy that he wants to play with me!  I know there will come a time that it won't be cool to hang out with mommy, so I will enjoy what I can get now!

Bouncing around!

After all of that bouncing, I thought for sure that Little Buddy would take a great nap.  We ate a light lunch and headed home, where Little Buddy fell right asleep.  I went to take a shower and do some chores.  Sadly, as soon as I was done with my shower, I heard a very upset little boy.  So much for the nap.

After just 45 minutes of respite, I was stuck with a moody, unrested toddler.  Besides creating general havoc, he decided to do more creative damage, specifically to our TV stand.

Thank God for dry erase crayons.

After cleaning up that mess, I then found that Little Buddy all of a sudden doesn't like wearing a wet diaper.  I came out to find a naked baby with a wet diaper on the floor beside him (I have a picture, but I didn't feel that the full frontal was appropriate for the blog).  He then told me there was pee in it and that it needed thrown away.  This happened twice.  Potty training may be starting sooner than I thought (just in time for finals, yay!?).

Along with taking his diaper off, Little Buddy kept the crazy going this afternoon by using Chesney's leash to try to walk himself.  He then climbed in his high chair asking for food.  Thankfully, it was about time to go pick up Daddy for dinner.

My dog-leashed baby.

We picked up Daddy and headed over to Jason's.  While there, Little Buddy and I showed Daddy our new trick:  Today I taught Little Buddy about Eskimo kisses!  Now he is obsessed with rubbing noses.  It's pretty cute. :)

"Eskimo, Eskimo, Eskimo kisses!"

After dinner, we stopped at Toys R Us to pick up a potty for Little Buddy.  We'll keep the training seat upstairs and the potty downstairs.  I guess we'll see what happens!

Night all,
