"When was the last time you did something for the first time?"
As I am sure you are aware, Little Buddy and I have a pretty set schedule. The routine works for us. It helps ensure that Little Buddy gets a good nap and that I get work done. Both of us function better when we know the schedule for the day, but it does lower our ability to be spontaneous. So, because I am on break, I decided we had the freedom to try some new things.
First off, after Boot Camp, we met Daddy for lunch at a new restaurant. It was a Greek place that Daddy and I had meant to visit for several years, but just never got around to it. Today, we finally broke our routine and went! It was thankfully child friendly (which had been one of the reasons we hadn't gone yet) and the food was delicious! Little Buddy stuck with his grilled cheese, but he did get in the spirit by sitting in a booster seat for the first time instead of the high chair! He did great!

Then, after nap, Little Buddy and I went to meet some friends at a play area we hadn't been to before. We had a lot of fun at Safari Stop, even though my little guy climbed all the way up and hid from me for a bit! I think he enjoyed climbing around at a new place.
Just running around!
Dinner time brought some more firsts. Little Buddy was desperate for some of Daddy and I's corn on the cob, so we cut him off his own little hunk of "baby corn." He was so excited to eat it like a big boy!
Chomp, chomp, chomp...
We finished the night by taking an impromptu trip to Sonic to get ice cream for the family, and by family, I mean the whole family! Chesney got to come too! Little Buddy almost couldn't contain how excited he was to eat ice cream in the truck bed with Chesney.

He was great at sharing his ice cream!

Someone seemed pretty happy with our change of pace today.
With all of our deviations from our schedule, Little Buddy ended up going to bed late. We'll have to see how he wakes up tomorrow, but I am proud of us for setting the goal to do something different and accomplishing it. I hope we can keep trying new things for the rest of break too!
Night all,
LBM
