Happy Mommies and Babies!
The only odd thing about our visit was right when we got there and Little Buddy did NOT want to let me go. I tried to set him down but he cried and kept climbing up on me. I had to sit there for about five minutes with him in my arms, just talking to him, before he felt comfortable enough to go play. I'm worried that since I was out of town for a couple days last week, he is now scared I am leaving again. I don't know why he would be so upset, he had a great time with Daddy, but I do know that if this keeps up, dropping him off for school next week will be...interesting, to say the least.
I let Little Buddy play at the party and pushed his nap back, hoping that would cause him to nap at our next destination, which was a group study session for me for school. It worked! He slept in his stroller at Ms. R's house for an hour while I worked with my group on our Qualitative Research project. Once he woke up, though, it was a bit more difficult for me to concentrate since he just wanted to go run around the house and get into things he shouldn't. Finally, he settled down and just wanted to sit on my lap and watch what was going on. He was mostly behaved, I guess. However, he did keep running over to play with Ms. R's trashcan. Silly boy.
Our evening consisted of dinner with Daddy, some ball throwing practice, and a bath. Both my husband and I couldn't help but laugh when Little Buddy leaned over in the tub and started blowing bubbles! It was pretty cute. Each time he would blow bubbles, he would then sit back up and laugh and smile. He makes me so happy.
After bath, it was time for bed. Unfortunately, he still doesn't want to fall asleep at "new" seven, preferring to chat to his stuffed animals until "old" seven ("new" eight). Ay yay yay. He'll adjust one day, right?
Good night!
