Day 342: Cyclones, Peanut Butter 'Dillas, and Light Walks

The day, of course, had to start with some more cave time!  I think this box may have taken up permanent residence in our living room.  Oh well, as long as it keeps him happy, we can add it to the decor!

Good morning!

Today was J's birthday and Little Buddy was excited to go to the party at Pump it Up.  The kids had a great time playing on the bounce houses and inflatables, but they really enjoyed shutting themselves in the cyclone room.  It didn't seem to bother them that the "cyclone" wasn't running (it cost $2 to use); they seemed perfectly content just being together and shutting the door.

How many toddlers can we fit in here?

Pretty soon it was time for Little Buddy's favorite part of the party: cake!  First we sang to J, then we dug into some tasty goodies.

Cupcake time!

Such a great time at the party!  We actually managed to make it home and play with Daddy a little bit before nap time.  Little Buddy soon succumbed to all the activity from the morning and fell fast asleep.

Tonight we were supposed to go to another party with our friends.  This was a holiday party and Little Buddy was excited because there was going to be a bounce house.  However, we got stuck in really bad traffic and didn't make it.  No fun!  We finally decided it was pointless to try to continue our journey, so we came home.  Because we didn't have anything ready for dinner, we had to improvise.  Turns out that Little Buddy loves peanut butter and jelly on a tortilla.  We called them peanut butter 'dillas (a fun substitute from Little Buddy's normal quesadilla) and he devoured them!

How do you like that Peanut Butter 'Dilla?

"It's delicious!"

Yummy!

To make up for missing the bounce house, we decided to take a late walk around the neighborhood and look at Christmas lights (yes, it's still that warm that we can do that at night.  In flip flops.  I turned on my Pandora Christmas station on my phone to make it feel a little more like the holidays!). Little Buddy loved all the Santa lawn decorations and enjoyed telling me about all the colors he saw.

Taking Chesney on a Light Walk!

It was fun, but I can't wait until we are back in Ohio for Christmas.  Hopefully, it will actually be cold there and feel like holiday time!

Night all,
