Day 338: Explosions, Kitchens, and Sunsets

Wow.  Today started off a bit differently than normal.  Daddy woke up to find that the beer that he and Uncle C had brewed this past weekend exploded hops/yeast sludge all over the dining room, kitchen, and foyer.  Ugh.  We both started scrubbing and managed to get most of it cleaned up before Little Buddy woke up at 6:30 AM.  Still, not my favorite way to begin the morning.

To compound it, Daddy wasn't feeling very well and decided to stay home today.  Little Buddy was happy to have so extra time with him, but he didn't like his daddy feeling under the weather.

"Hold on, Daddy, once I have Elmo Bones' blood pressure, I will examine you too."

However, Dr. Little Buddy was interrupted by a pretty important surprise package delivery.  You see, we had ordered Little Buddy a play kitchen for Christmas.  It wasn't supposed to come for about two more weeks, but here it was, on our front porch.  As my husband was already home and our time between now and the holidays are limited, we decided Little Buddy wouldn't mind an early Christmas gift.  Time for kitchen building!

Daddy and his helper!

Wait, what kind of help is that?

Oh, now I see how it is!  Sitting down on the job!

Now we've got the right idea.

Just like Daddy.

Almost done!

Couldn't wait to start playing!

It was all we could do to tear him away from his kitchen to eat lunch and take his nap.  He loves it!  We spent a good part of today enjoying the "soup" and "pancakes" he made us.  Then, because we didn't get to go in the morning, we went to afternoon boot camp.  It was a nice change and the sunset on the lake was lovely.

Watching crew practice.  Maybe I'll have a rowing buddy one day.  :)

Cool shot.

My amazing boy.

It was certainly a different day than what we were expecting, but I think it all worked out in the end.  Every day is certainly an adventure!

Night all,
