Day 40: Dance Machine

Every morning after breakfast, Little Buddy and I watch a bit of the Today show and then listen to music on the 60s music station.  He loves listening to the music in the morning.  As soon as it comes on, he drops whatever he is doing and starts dancing.  It is one of my favorite things to watch.  I am hoping to get some better pictures and videos of his moves soon, but here he is dancing with Green Monster:

We headed to Boot Camp afterward, and Little Buddy was quite happy to play on the playground once the workout was over.  Unfortunately, he is starting to get a little more daring.  At one point while up on top level of the play area, he made his way over to an opening near a climbing pole.  For big kids, this is very manageable and a lot of fun.  For little ones (and their scared mommies!) it is not so good.  I was directly below him as he would hold onto the bars and lean over to laugh at me.  I knew that I could catch him if he did fall, but my heart was still skipping beats.  I had to stay where in case he would fall, prohibiting me from running over to the stairs to get up to him.  Thankfully, after less than two minutes (though it felt like forever) he left the area and made his way over to the much safer slide.  Cue the sighs of relief.  We left right after that.

The plan was to pick up my husband, go to lunch, and then bring Little Buddy home to a nice long (for him) nap.  Unfortunately, I could not keep Little Buddy awake for the five minute drive to get my husband.    He was out.  We only managed to wake him up when we got to the restaurant.  He was quite happy to wake up to eat, but that 15 minute power nap seemed to revitalize him.  I took the long way home, hoping he would fall back asleep.  It got quiet.  Thinking I had success, I pulled in the driveway only to see this:

Oh well.

We spent the afternoon coloring, playing, and dancing some more.  He was very into his purple crayon today.  I now have many masterful art works like this on my refrigerator:

Gallery opening to follow soon.  ;)

I did manage to get him to take a short nap later, but then he woke up in an angry mood.  He cried against my chest for quite some time, tears and snot soaking through my shirt.  Poor little guy.  It took some time, but I was able to calm him down with some Elmo.  By the time Daddy got home, we were working on smiles again.  Then it was time for dinner, more dancing, and finally bedtime.

Night,
