After our workout, I headed to Target to take care of some errands. Once I parked, I looked back: Little Buddy was sound asleep. Hoping against hope he would stay asleep for a while (he had woken up a bit early and seemed tired most of the morning), I abandoned my Target plans and headed home. Maybe, just maybe, he would stay asleep long enough once we got home for me to get some work done. My hopes were dashed as we pulled into the driveway and I heard a distinct "Mama?" from the backseat. *Sigh*
I rallied my spirits. He was sure to take a nap after lunch. In fact, we could take a walk to the neighborhood playground. If he stayed awake through the walk, I would let him play and wear himself out. Then he would certainly nap and I would be able to cross some homework and housework off my To Do list. Confident in this, we ate lunch and then were playground bound.
After a playing for nearly an hour, Little Buddy started to rub his eyes and yawn. I happily settled him into his stroller, looking forward to his nap and my 30 minutes of work time. However, as with most of my mommy plans, it went awry. Instead of falling asleep, Little Buddy seemed to be getting more and more active. *Sigh* No nap it is.
A friend once asked me how I managed Little Buddy's lack of napping. I told her I was just playing the hand that I was dealt. It is hard sometimes, especially when I need to do stuff for school, when Little Buddy doesn't nap. It can get frustrating, but I just know that is who he is. He is a great night sleeper, but not a napper. There are certainly going to be more times down the line where he is not going to do what I want or expect him to do. This is just training for those. :)
Anyway, after no nap and dinner, we did find out that Little Buddy finally fits into the Batman pajamas we bought eons ago. Complete with cape, he was pretty adorable running around the living room. I am pretty obsessed with these pjs, so I apologize for the picture overload.
"Where's my sidekick?"
"C'mon Super Scout, time to fight crime!"
The Dynamic Duo
"Let's go Super Scout! I think there are some cookies that need rescuing!"
"What Mommy? No, I didn't say anything about any cookies..."
"But if you would like to give me some, I will certainly take them. I will even say please." :)
Now I am worn out. Night everyone!
