Day 35: By Water, by Horse, and by Wagon!

There were thunderstorms throughout the night, so my run this morning got rained out.  For a bright moment, I thought I could sleep in, but Little Buddy had other ideas.  The rain woke him up around five.

Seeing he was still tired, I rocked him back to sleep.  Looking at his face settling into slumber, lit up occasionally by flashes of lightening from outside, lulled me into a thankful, blessed mommy moment.  He was so peaceful and perfect and miraculous.  My heart still warms at the memory.

Once he was asleep, I tried to lay him down.  "Tried" being the operative word, as he immediately woke back up.  Just like a reverse baby doll, his eyes open as soon as you lay him down.  Oh well, might as well get an early start on a busy day.

"Let's go!  Look, I've already styled my hair with peanut butter!"

We went to swim class, where Little Buddy was more than willing to kick up a storm in the pool with Daddy.  Afterward, it was time to get a haircut.  I wish I could take pictures of him getting his hair cut, but my hands are always occupied trying to get him to sit still.  He was able to control himself long enough for the stylist to cut most of his hair, so we rewarded him with a ride on the carousel before we went to lunch.

Little Buddy actually fell fast asleep on the way home and stayed that way for about TWO MORE HOURS!  After the lack of nap yesterday, this was pretty miraculous, especially with both myself and my husband art home to make use of the time.  We were able to get quite a bit of work done before Little Buddy woke up and we went on a wagon ride with Chesney.

I am the Master of my Destiny!

We ended the day with church and dinner.  He was being quite the mischief maker at church, but just when we were at our wits end, he smiled at both of us and pulled us both in for a big family hug.  Who can resist that?  With one of his arms wrapped around each of our necks, hugging us in close, all my husband and I could do was look at each other and smile.  We are truly blessed.

Now Little Buddy is in bed and I am headed that way too, since I are going to try to make up my run in the morning.

Good night!
