Day 2!

OMG!  I am actually on a two day posting streak!  Maybe this resolution will make it past one week!  Maybe. ;)

Little Buddy has always been a good night sleeper (never a good napper, but that's another post).  He rarely wakes up during the night and only wakes up early if he isn't feeling well.  His normal night sleep pattern is 7 PM to 6 AM.  Now 6 AM is early, but manageable.  However, for the past two weeks he has been battling cutting a molar.  This doesn't wake him up during the night, but it does wake him up at 5 AM.  Up and ready to go for the day.  This is how he looks at 5 AM:

How do I look at 5 AM?  It's too frightening to show.  Rest assured, however, that losing just one hour of sleep while caring for a toddler does take its toll.  And it is a toll on everything: your alertness, your ability to converse with other people who don't care for children, your hair, your clothes, your ability to empty a dishwasher or take a shower....you get the picture.  In any case, I HATE molars and want them to just CUT THROUGH ALREADY.  Ahem, I mean, it was a great morning and I was so glad to have an extra hour of fun with my Little Buddy.  Ahem.

Otherwise it was a pretty low key day.  My husband had the day off, so we spent it running errands and bolstering the economy like we always do when shopping together, talking each other into purchases we probably wouldn't get on our own.  Little Buddy had a busy day too.  We took him to get new shoes (size 7 already!) and a haircut (goodbye mullet!  Seriously though, why does the back of his hair grow so fast while it seems that his bangs never do?).

Once we got back home he cheered us on from his stoller seat while we ran and completely amazed us when we got home by telling us his alphabet up to "D".  We couldn't believe it!  He thought our surprise was hysterical and kept doing it, a giggle coming out after each tentative pronouncement of a letter.  We even got him to repeat almost the entire alphabet after us (a good 75% actually sounded close to the letter we were on).  It is just so amazing to watch him learn and begin to understand things.

Today was also a great day for kisses.  Some days they come easy and some days he just teases us with affection.  Today he was all over us, running up with hugs, giving kisses when asked, and giving kisses spontaneously.  I dare you to have a bad day when a toddler is running up to you and, with complete adoration, lays a smacker on your lips, giggling with joy before and after.  Anyway, after a great day, he went to bed quickly.  Let's hope he doesn't find 5 AM so alluring tomorrow morning.

Night all,

LBM
